I love the idea of passing down through generations be it jewellery, a business, or in this case a stunning Art Nouveau building! Built by the owners great-grandfather, this light and spacious loft is located in the centre of Freiburg, a city in the south-west of Germany. After an impressive restoration, the interior has been given a new lease of life with minimalist modern fittings, while continuing to pay homage to its construction materials - its history - with open worn beans and black iron pillars. Enjoy the virtual tour!
Paul F. Tompkins, succinctly explaining why you call people what they want to be called, whether it’s “little people” or “transgender” or “chairperson” or “Bob”. It’s not about being politically correct and it’s not about you. It’s about basic decency and respect. (via ericmortensen)
#when I started mentally replacing ‘politically correct’ with ‘respectful’#what was and wasn’t appropriate or valid to say was infinitely clearer to me#because being politically correct is about knowing the secret code and being invincible to being called out#and that’s not the point#the point is that if someone experiences the world in a way that I’m not used to accomodating#it’s my job to learn how to accomodate them
Dignity and Respect.
